This sounds like a hoot!

Now, for some equipment concerns. I understand 100% the desire to standardize equipment, but I'm also reluctant to spend $300 on an unknown.

Who makes this gun? Is it similar to an existing production model? How heavy is it? How are the sights adjusted? How many shots can I expect from a single CO2 cartridge? What if I get a lemon? What if I get the gun, shoot it a few times, and then decide it just isn't worth the money?

If I could be sure this was a quality gun, I would jump in in a heartbeat. But I can't do that until I see some specifications and some high-resolution photos of this thing, or (even better) a 3rd-party review of it. Even a totally-biased review of it would be better than nothing!

Thanks for the question... We've been getting a lot of requests for gun info
We are using a WE double stack 1911 that's roughly based on the STI 2011.
BB capacity is 25 and the capacity of the 12 gram CO2 Cart is about 50 rounds of rapid fire and 75 of just plinking. We tested about 15 guns including the Western Arms and Tokyo Marui.
Some numbers for you:
System weight (Gun-Mag-Pellets-Gas)
WE, 39.2 oz Frame, slide, mag are metal
WA, 31.3 oz Mag is metal
TM, 28.4 oz Mag is metal
Colt Combat Target .45 ACP, 44.2 oz (7 rounds) Frame, slide, mag are metal
STI 2011 Tactical 5 45 ACP, 46.5 oz (10 rounds) Frame, slide, mag are metal

We used one gun at a Department of Justice trade show and had 309 people shoot courses of fire over a 3 day period. We had no gun failures. We are still using that gun for media and demonstration events.

If you have any other questions feel free to write

One other thing:
The most expensive part of the kit is the timer. It's a CED 7000 that's just a joy to work with. It has more features than we're currently planning on using but as the sport progresses it'll be right there with us. It's been modified for AAG so it's more adaptable to the softer report (bang) of the airsoft gun and works well in an enclosed space like a garage or outside if that's where you've setup your course.
